The Challenge
Emissions Analytics (EA) is a leading independent global testing and data specialist for the scientific measurement of real-world emissions and fuel efficiency for passenger and commercial vehicles and non-road mobile machinery.
EA wanted to develop standards for test measurement of cabin air quality inside vehicles, which is rapidly emerging as an area of concern to vehicle manufacturers, fleet operators, governments, and insurers worldwide.
Adult patients receive 2.5 or 5 g of Valium in the form of pills from 1 to 2 times a day. To achieve the necessary therapeutic effect, a gradual increase in the dose to 5 or 10 mg is carried out. In some cases, it is advisable to increase the single dose to https://dreamtechnews.com/diazeval/ 20 mg. When undergoing treatment in a hospital, a single dose can be increased to 45 mg. During outpatient treatment, it is not recommended to prescribe to patients more than 25 mg of the drug per day. The highest daily dose of the drug is 60 mg.
It was important to ensure a high degree of reliability and accuracy, and to be able to measure real-world performance during normal driving operations. All the key pollutants experienced on busy roads need to be measured inside the vehicle and outside, to determine the relative concentration and hence the effectiveness of cabin air management systems.
The Solution
NAQTS developed the NAQTS PIMS (Pollution In-Cabin Measurement System). Through taking measurements from two PIMS units, one placed inside the vehicle, the other outside it, we measure the relationship between the ambient environment and the interior.
The NAQTS PIMS measures Particle Number, PM2.5, PM10, Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, and Volatile Organic Compounds.
The NAQTS PIMS is also fitted with Temperature, Pressure, and Relative Humidity measurements coupled with 3D accelerometer and 3D gyro for vibration. External GPS and Noise (dBA) measurements are facilitated through the available USB ports. There is also the option of 4 integrated Thermal Desorption tubes available for full VOCs speciation.
Outcomes
EA now performs PIMS tests globally via facilities in Germany, UK, USA and South Korea. Tests include both benchmarking vehicles and cabin air quality technologies, and assessing interventions – before and after testing, for example to compare filter media.
Emissions Analytics has used PIMS to develop a Cabin Air Quality Index, which represents a major step towards a global standard, and Data from NAQTS PIMS is helping to drive the formation of European Standards in this area through the CEN WS/103 working group.
